Jason Kipnis Helps Push Jimenez and Indians Into A Win

Written By Larry M. Glicken "LG"

Jason KipnisJason Kipnis put his base running into overdrive to score the Indians winning run against Oakland. The Indians would watch Ubaldo Jimenez tough out a night he didn't have any of his stuff, yet he comes away with his second win of the season.

The Indians are now 6-1 on their three city road trip and the Tribe has done so by scoring just enough runs in a couple of games to get guys like Jimenez and Tomlin into the win column.

As Jason Kipnis crossed the plate last night he let out a yell of joy knowing the run he just scored helped his pitcher win a ball game he not only was excited about an Indians win, he also knows what a win to a guy like Jimenez means to his confidence.

The Indians bull pen was also huge in last nights victory, Joe Smith, Vinny Pestano and Chris Perez all did what they had to do to get the Cleveland Indians their seventh win of the season.
The Cleveland Indians scored their first run in the second inning against Oakland when the bases were loaded and Jack Hannahan hit a sac fly bring Carlos Santana home. The Indians would watch the A's tie the game at one in the third inning when Jimenez served up along ball to Josh Reddick.

The Indians would see the man who has been hitting in situations when they really could use the hits Jack Hannahan double to left field in the fourth scoring Travis Hafner and Shelley Duncan making it 3-1 in favor if the Cleveland Indians. The Indians would see the winning run (Kipnis) cross the plate in the fifth inning on a Choo single to right field. The Cleveland Indians were able to hang on for the win despite the fact Oakland's Yoenis Cespedes was trying to get the A's back on top in the fifth and the seventh innings he did what he could to change things.
The Indians held on for the 4-3 win.
